John Phillips became a member of the PGA in 1995. He started his career in Minnesota before coming back home to the Houston area and serving as Head Golf Professional at The Woodlands Country Club, Golf Professional at Shadow Hawk Golf Club and Director of Golf at Houston Oaks. John joined Summit Golf School in 2018 as a full time golf instructor.

John has extensive teaching experience with golfers of all ages and skill levels, including beginners through professionals. In 2001, he was presented the Southern Texas PGA’s Eastern Chapter Junior Golf Leader Award. John has competed in multiple Minnesota and Texas State Opens, and in 2010, he qualified and competed in the Club Professional National Championship in French Lick, Indiana.

John has worked with and has been influenced by some of the most legendary golf instructors in the country, including Paul Marchand, Charlie Epps, Richard Cromwell, Don Massengale, Carol Mann and Dick Harmon.
